Trademark Standards:

  1. “Certified Cruelty Free ” trademark expires after 12 months and must be renewed annually. It is how we ensure that our licensees are in keeping with our standards and requirements. However, renewals will be at a discounted rate. 

  2. The “Certified Cruelty Free ” trademark may be used on all company literature, ads, in store use, displays, websites and social media.

  3. Certified Cruelty Free artwork is provided in a .gif, .tif, .jpeg or .png format. 

  4. The trademarked badge will be permitted to be displayed on packaging of Certified Cruelty Free Approved Products, websites and ads, as long as the company has met the requirements to be Certified Cruelty Free .

  5. The trademark fee includes one or all products that meet the Certified Cruelty Free requirements.  If you have one or 100 items that meet the requirements, your company pays one fee only for the trademark. 

  6. The trademark must appear exactly as original design without any changes. The trademark design must remain in proportion and not distorted, retain all artwork and all words. The appearance must be the same. 

  7. The trademark can used in any color as long as they are visible.

  8. Without written permission and approval, no other website, publication, domain, service, product or the like may use the trademark or names “Certified Cruelty Free and Certified Cruelty Free Approved. The trademark may not be duplicated or imitated by another company for design.

  9. The Certified Cruelty Free trademark is the property of Certified Cruelty Free/DiMare Design and may be revoked for non-payment of licensing fee, failure to conform to the Certified Cruelty Free agreement and misuse of the logos trademark.

  10. If, for any reason, the trademark are used mistakenly on uncertified products and/or companies, Certified Cruelty Free must be immediately notified by the company. The incorrect labels must be removed and if labels are in the marketplace, the company must post the error on all marketing material, websites and ads.

  11. Certified Cruelty Free has the discretion to adjust the fee to license the trademark for companies with gross revenues over 2 million.


The following will will result in loss of using the logos and voiding of the contract:

  1. Trademark fee non-payment.

  2. Misuse of the trademark.

  3. Not conforming to the agreement.

  4. Certified Cruelty Free reserves the right to penalize a company violating the agreement by misuse of the trademarks and/or providing false or misleading information about their products.

  5. Contact us if your company is interested in registering the Certified Cruelty Free trademark for one or multiple products.
